Michelle Caminos is an educator with a background in higher education management and training & development. Most recently, she served as Chief Distance Education Officer at Unity College in Maine. Prior to that, she was a Fellow on Women & Public Policy at the University at Albany and taught at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and The Sage Colleges, where she also served as Associate Dean. At Sage, she co-developed and launched an online bachelor's degree program with integrated support services for students with autism. Michelle holds degrees in psychology, health promotion, and management, as well as a doctorate in education. She is the mother of a four-year-old son with a brain tumor and seizure disorder who is given medicinal cannabis to complement standard cancer treatments. After her son developed a violent behavior disorder, Michelle was able to wean him off pharmaceutical treatment for his seizures, and he has remained seizure-free on cannabis only. His behavior disorder resolved virtually overnight when he stopped taking the seizure drug levetiracetam (Keppra).Michelle is eager to connect with and support others who are interested in (or currently) using medical cannabis with children.
