Dawson Julia

dawsonDawson Julia is CEO of East Coast CBDs LLC, a medical marijuana caregiver business located in Unity. Maine. Dawson is a graduate of Winslow High School and spent several years studying at Thomas College. While attending Winslow junior high school and Winslow High School, Dawson worked in his early teen years as a employee of James D Julia Auction Inc. located in Fairfield, Maine. After realizing he did not want a career working for the family business he spent a year studying paralegal studies where he perused a short lived career after realizing attorney work can be very boring and not rewarding enough to commit a life to.

In 1992 while seeking a independent self sufficient career, Dawson started to network in a upcoming market that remained untapped in most of Maine. Starting out as weekend work, high demand tickets for sports, concerts and theater were purchased by Dawson and others he employed in Maine for events located in MA, RI, NY. The niche being there were no lines for these events in Maine while lines were hundreds long in the state of the event. Connecting with ticket dealers in other states to obtain top wholesale value, he was able to create a consistent income while beginning to grow a small business in his house located in Canaan, Maine. After 5 years of continued revenue growth and profits a storefront business (Ticket Town) emerged in Fairfield, Maine under the sole proprietor ownership of Dawson Julia in 1997. In 2005 he began venturing into software development and started Cheatah Systems Inc. After 3 years of explosive growth with Cheatah Systems Inc while also dedicating 11 years of hard work into Ticket Town and generating 20 million in sales throughout those years the business Ticket Town was sold in 2008. While using in state resources and generating 100% out of state sales Cheatah Systems Inc. was able to become a net plus economy builder for Maine's small business growth.

In 2009 medical marijuana became legal in the state of Maine. In 2010 after legal implementation for medical marijuana caregivers rights to grow in Maine, Dawson became a registered caregiver with the state in the early stages and began a new venture. Focusing on a somewhat unique form of cannabis (CBD) in the early onset of medical marijuana, he soon became aware CBD cannabis is a very difficult genetic to acquire. Using what genetics were available a mission to create a new strain began. After 3 years of work a strong strength CBD and very low strength THC strain (20:1) was created and verified through lab results. Soon into 2013 the realization became apparent that 1 caregiver was not enough to handle the demand for the newly developed non psychoactive cannabis CBD strain “Dr. CBD”. In 2014 the decision to open a new location was made. On May 31st 2014 East Coast CBDs Inc was created. A 14,000 sq ft. facility was acquired and a new route for growth was discovered by utilizing multiple family member caregivers into one location. Today East Coast CBDs is one of the biggest suppliers in Maine for non-psychoactive medical cannabis and is a happy to provide genetics sharing company for those who are certified and wish to acquire hard to find CBD genetics.

In July of 2014 Dawson helped to create and was a founding member of the MOFGA C3 program, which has become the East Coast's 1st organization for “clean cannabis certified” medical marijuana. This is a program designed to comply with traditional standards for certified organic growth.

In 2016 after 3 + years of continued work fighting Maine anti-medical marijuana bills independently, Dawson was offered a opportunity to become a member of the “Legislative Committee” for the non-profit organization “Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine” (MMCM) . Today he proudly helps to be part of leading a new fight for Maine citizen cannabis rights to both grow, posses and utilize medical marijuana in Maine and throughout the country.
